Introduction

Graded music exam is a structured framework for a musician to progress systematically. It lays foundation & takes a well rounded approach to improve the skills.

Exam Boards

We train students from beginner to Grade 8 for following international certifying schools.

• Trinity School of Music, London
• Rock School, London
• Associated Board of Royal School of Music (ABRSM), London

Eligibility Criteria

The exams are open to all with no age restrictions or any qualifications. There is no requirement to have passed lower grades to appear for higher grades, however the grades show a systematic progress and builds confidence in terms of mastery of the respective instrument.

Duration

There are two parts in learning

1. Students will be taught / guided by the tutors (Guided Learning Hours)
2. Student will have to practise independently to master the taught lessons. (Independent learning hours)

Given below is the recommended time commitment needed across each grade, however this should be used more as a guidance.

Giving Exams & Certification

Students can give exams both online and offline, but given the current situation we strongly recommend online exams. We will help you in the entire process right from booking theexam, helping you in the video recording, submission of the video file and getting the certification.

Each exam has 3 sections. They are different across each level, but given below is the framework for assessment.

Assessment & Marking

Exams of all the three schools are assessed by external examiners of the respective schools.

RockSchool

At each grade you have the option of taking one of two different types of examination – Grade Certificate & Performance Certificate. You can get certified through online exam upto Grade 5 & Grade 8 in Grade Certificate & Performance Certificate respectively.

1.Grade Exam

Grade Exam is a mixture of music performances, technical work and tests.

2.Performance Certificate

In a Performance Certificate you play five pieces. Up to three of these can be Free Choice Pieces.
